Microsoft PowerPoint has a lot to answer for these days. We've known for years that PowerPoint presentations can be boring and unimaginative, of course, and many critics have blamed PowerPoint for dumbing down the level of discourse in corporate America.

We've known for years that PowerPoint presentations can be boring, of course, and many critics have blamed PowerPoint for dumbing down the level of discourse in corporate America (which, as everyone knows, is why Bill Gates hardly ever refers to Montaigne or Schopenhauer when he speaks). But now it appears that in addition to being dull and dumb, PowerPoint may also be capable of killing people – or at least obscuring information that could keep them alive.
