Are You Ready to Connect Like a Pro?
May 19, 2008
Edited by Stacy Straczynski
Looking to get more face time with your clients and employees? Then give Adobe's recently launched new version of Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro a test run. The browser-based product takes steps to further enhance online communication and collaboration with even more user-friendly functionality and additional dynamic meetings capabilities.

Adobe Systems Inc. today announced the general availability of its new version of Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro, the company's comprehensive Web conferencing and e-learning solution. The latest version now includes new functionality that enriches online communication and collaboration, enabling organizations to offer more engaging rapid training, interactive virtual classes and dynamic online meetings. Features include break-out "rooms," a content management system and easy content authoring. And, as an additional plus for mobile teams, Acrobat Connect Pro enables users to hold interactive online meetings that incorporate high-impact Adobe Flash Player compatible presentations.

"The big focus for Adobe is engagement," says David Slater, Group Product Marketing Manager for Adobe. "It's based on two things: the first being a Flash player. The big advantage is that everyone already has the player on their computer. The second is that Connect Pro functions with "in browser use." This means that all participants can automatically log in to their sessions without having to download and implement any form of additional software.

Adobe Presenter gives virtually anyone the power to easily turn Microsoft PowerPoint presentations into multimedia experiences that include video, narration, animations, interactivity and advanced quizzes. One particularly unique feature is the ability for voice capture and inclusion, which PowerPoint-based presentations have previously lacked.

Other new capabilities that users can look forward to include screen-share options, archiving and editing capabilities, question pooling and the ability to easily publish presentations to mobile devices or within PDF files.
