For Regent Seven Seas Cruises, 2007 was a very good year. Deemed "World's Best Small-Ship Luxury Cruise Line" in Condé Nast Traveler's Readers' Choice Awards, it also won "Best in Cruise Lines–Luxury" from Travel Weekly readers.
For 2008, Regent Seven Seas Cruises has scheduled nine Circles of Interest enrichment programs focusing on food and wine. Available on Regent Seven Seas Cruises for several years, according to Brian Major, a company spokesman. "the program [is designed] to provide guests with opportunities to watch celebrated chefs prepare signature dishes, learn their secret cooking techniques, and sip and savor their way through some of the world's greatest food and wine regions."
Each of the on-board programs is combined with a shore activity like shore-side market visits in Buenos Aires or dinner at an exclusive restaurant in Istanbul, Turkey.
One of the big headliners scheduled for 2008 is world-renowned spiritualist Deepak Chopra. Aboard the Seven Seas Mariner, Chopra will teach "life extension techniques" in a program called "Grow Younger, Live Longer."
It comprises a 10-step process that provides instruction in the areas of stress management, relationship fulfillment, cultivating a youthful mind, sexual vitality, restful sleep and optimal nutrition, and is designed to reverse the biological age of participants..
