Carlson Marketing Announces Changes to Gold Points July 23, 2008 Outstanding Reward Network points redeemable through end of year
By Jeanie Casison
Gold Points Reward Network members have until 11:59 p.m. Central Time, December 31, 2008 to redeem their points. After that, the program ends and all operations will cease. It's important to note that this recent announcement by the Minneapolis-based Carlson Marketing Worldwide does not apply to the Carlson Hotels Worldwide goldpoints plus program.
"Gold Points Reward Network actually stopped issuing Gold Points April 1, 2008," says Barry Wegener, senior director of marketing and communications for Carlson Marketing. As to the reason, he adds that "Gold Points Reward Network needed to change to better serve its major partners and their customers."
Helping to fill the void are Carlson Hotels and T.G.I Friday's—the two most notable Gold Points Reward Network partners are refocusing efforts with new program enhancements. "Carlson Hotels transformed its existing goldpoints plus frequent guest program to focus on hotel and travel rewards for its current and future members," says Wegener. "T.G.I. Friday's has now introduced 'Give Me More Stripes,' a new and exciting frequent guest program which will be more focused on it most loyal guests."
