Users of Expedia Corporate Travel are likely experiencing a double-take right about now, owing to the online booking site's recent name change to Egencia. But in spite of the switch—undertaken to differentiate the service from the Expedia leisure travel offering—business travelers aren't in for as dramatic a change as they may be expecting (or fearing).
While changes to the site's look and feel are already in place, the site functionality will remain consistent. The process of planning and booking travel will be the same as before, only now with the incorporation of Egencia design elements. Travel consultants will also begin answering calls using the Egencia name at that time.
To further differentiate the new brand, several new traveler features are also being launched:
• SeatGuru seatmap information, for help finding the best seat on every flight.
• Business traveler-friendly hotel reviews from properties around the world.
• TripAdvisor business traveler tools, to assist in making informed decisions during the trip-planning process.
