Scotiabank Launches Prepaid Visa Cards in Canada

Partners with Berkley Payment Solutions to develop employee rewards programs

Nissan and LG Electronics, are two companies that are realizing solid results with a new suite of prepaid Visa cards available exclusively in Canada through a partnership with Scotiabank and Berkley Payment Solutions. Recent successful rewards programs featuring the cards include the "Nissan Rogue Test Drive Direct-mail" initiative, the Nissan "Bonus Days" program offering customers the choice of receiving a Nissan-branded prepaid Visa gift card or a rebate when they purchased a Rogue, Altima, Sentra or Versa; and the LG "Born to Shine" campaign targeting sales associates at cellular stores.

"The LG Shine prepaid Visa campaign is seen as a tremendous success on every level by both our Canadian management team and our head office in Korea," says Beverly Battram, director of national accounts of LG Canada. "Not only was our lift in sales much higher than anticipated, it was one of the easiest incentive programs for our national sales team to both implement and communicate to dealer sales associates. This program delivered such outstanding results and such a win-win proposition for everyone involved—both internally and externally—that we intend to re-launch a similar program."

Ideal for employee incentive programs or consumer promotions, the new Scotiabank and Berkley Payment Solutions collection features branded, re-loadable prepaid Visa cards that can be used by recipients any way they want, anywhere. In addition, the Visa platform also includes accurate reporting and measurement of each payment program to help organizations gauge their return on investment.
