Report Says 3-D Market is Growing
Insight Media, a market and technology research firm in Norwalk, Conn., and Pismo Beach, Calif., has released "3-D Technology and Markets: A Study of All Aspects of Electronic 3-D Systems, Applications and Markets." The study analyzes 3D technologies and an analysis of the market segments in which 3D technology is likely to be used.
The report suggests that 3-D technology is beginning to have comparable image quality to 2-D LCD displays and that the price for these displays is coming down to levels just above that of 2-D displays. It forecasts that sales of large 3-D displays (larger than 40 inches) are expected to reach $180 million in 2007, and may reach $325 million by 2011.
