- Hawks Cay, a resort in the Florida Keys, appointed Alice Brennan, PHR, director of human resources. Brennan is responsible for human resources operations and initiatives, including professional development, recruitment, training, employee relations, benefits management, and related support for all operating departments.
- Karren Fink was named vice president of human resources for Edmunds Inc., a provider of automotive information. She is responsible for overseeing Edmunds' human resources processes including employee development, staffing, and benefits for the company's 400 employees. Fink joined Edmunds in December 2007. Previously, she was vice president of human resources at Westfield, LLC.
- The International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) named Capella University faculty member Darlene Van Tiem the new president-elect of ISPI's international board of directors. Van Tiem teaches training and performance improvement in the School of Education at Capella, an accredited online university with more than 22,000 students.
- Convergys Corporation, a provider of relationship management, elected Thomas L. Monahan III to its board of directors. Monahan became chairman of the Corporate Executive Board in January, and has served as CEO of that company since July 2005.
