Tiny cameras

According to Michelle Slaughter, director of digital photography trends service at InfoTrends, the miniaturization of storage (e.g., the tiny new XD Digital Card) allowed companies to shrink digital cameras even more in 2002. Minolta's SD Card-based DiMage X (left) is only 0.75-inches thick, yet offers a 3X optical zoom, an autofocus lens and two-megapixel resolution.
