Shaw Industries, Inc. The company achieved a 45.6 percent improvement in short-term turnover (less than 180 days) at Shaw's Plant DX by applying a combination of interventions including: creating and training a "hiring team" to improve the quality of new hires; establishing a mentor program for new hires and training the mentors to ensure they understand their role and responsibilities, as well as training in communication and listening skills; and establishing a more robust recognition system within the plant.
