Adobe's Acrobat 7 Professional continues to polish the application responsible for the portable document format (PDF). The latest version has greater integration with Microsoft Windows platform applications, including the ability to convert Microsoft Outlook and Access files into PDFs instantly via one button. Adobe has added new commenting tools that can be used within Adobe Reader 7.0 by approved participants. Other new features: optical character recognition of scanned documents, the ability to create one PDF using files from several applications, tighter integration with XML business forms via Adobe's LiveCycle Designer, and new pre-press tools for correcting color and printing ink problems.
