As Web-cams continue to proliferate on desktops, SightSpeed is offering a service for what it believes will be the next frontier in IP videoconferencing. SightSpeed Video Messenger 2.0 offers desktop-to-desktop videoconferencing for users with a Web camera. The service works with Mac-enabled Web-cams as well as USB Web-cams, such as Logitech's QuickCam for Notebooks Pro or QuickCam Orbit models. Video Messenger 2.0 has a picture-in-picture window that insets the caller's image into the main video-phone picture. The program offers full-screen videoconferencing and voice-over IP capabilities as well. (julie hill)
