HP Announces 2007 MediaSmart TV

HP's 37-inch LCD MediaSmart TV has been upgraded for 2007, and according to specs released at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last month, the improvements are manifold.

New screen sizes of 42 and 47 inches will be available in 1080p technology. It has the same ability to stream audio or video files from a PC and connect to the Internet, but now the wireless has been upgraded (from 802.11 a/b/g to 11n) and the TVs can aggregate streams of content from multiple PCs.

The TVs will launch in late spring, and HP says that the TVs will cost about $300 more than the LCD models of their same-size TVs.

Targus Announces Voice Recording Wireless Presenter

At last month's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Targus announced the availability of its new Voice Recording Presenter with Laser Pointer. The maker of laptop cases and accessories says that the 5 - x 2 - presenter is actually four individual products: a wireless PowerPoint presenter, a voice recorder, a laser pointer and an SD memory card reader.

The recorder allows users to record presentations in .wav audio file format, for up to four minutes per megabyte of information. Users can also store presentations on an SD card and then transfer information to another computer. The 2.4 GHz wireless capability allows the user to control the presentation in a 50-foot range.
