About The Survey
To conduct the second annual training priorities survey, Brandon-hall.com and Training magazine sent about 32,000 e-mails inviting the most senior training professionals in each organization to respond to a Web-based survey. In order to ensure that only the most senior learning professionals within U.S. organizations were surveyed, all respondents were required to indicate whether they were one of the three most senior training professionals in their organization, division, etc. Responses from those who said they did not hold such a position within their organization were excluded from the final survey results.
Respondents were asked to name and describe their top three training priorities for 2004 from a list of 36 options, based on answers to last year's responses to an open-ended version of the question. We also offered an open-ended write-in field that allowed survey respondents to write in priorities not already present on the list.
